The Monasterio de Santa María de Buena Fuente del Sistal (short Monasterio de Buena Fuente ; lat. Abbatia BMV de Bonafonte ) is a Spanish Cistercian - Abbey in the province of Guadalajara the Autonomous Region of Castilla-La Mancha , whose origins date to the 12th century go back and was settled by the Casbas monastery .

The monastery is located in the southwest of the municipality of Olmeda de Cobeta in the Parque Natural del Alto Tajo near the village of Buenafuente del Sistal . It is run by mostly elderly Cistercian women. One of them, Teresita, went to the monastery on April 16, 1927, the day of the birthday of the future Pope Benedict XVI. , and left it for the first time as a 103-year-old voluntarily on the occasion of his visit to Spain in August 2011.
