action

Sisters Rachel and Cynthia run the Racine hair and beauty salon in Islip, Long Island. Every third Monday of the month, Rachel and Cynthia give up their day off and open their salon to women with cancer who can get a haircut or beauty treatment for free. The film revolves around the question of why the loss of hair is often so traumatic for cancer patients when their whole life is at stake. Cynthia and Rachel help the women with wigs, fashionable headgear, false eyelashes, massages, manicures and pedicures. In the salon people laugh a lot, cry a lot, and talk about fears and worries.
