Monica Sabolo, (* 1971 in Milan , Italy ) is a French journalist and writer.

Career

Born in Milan, Sabolo grew up in Geneva , Switzerland , where she also studied. After working for animal welfare at WWF, first in Guyane , then in Canada , she started working as a journalist for the newly founded magazine Terre et Océans in 1995 .

Work as a journalist

Monica Sabolo initially worked in the editorial offices of Voici and Elle . With the launch of Grazia magazine , Sabolo became its editor-in-chief for “Culture and People”. At the beginning of 2013, she took a sabbatical year to write her third novel Everything has nothing to do with me , for which she was awarded the Prix ​​de Flore .

In 2014, Sabolo decided to become a screenwriter.

Literary work

Sabolo's first book Le Roman de Lili was published in 2000. This was followed, five years later, by Jungle . For her autobiographical novel Everything has nothing to do with me , she was awarded the Prix ​​de Flore in the first vote . This legendary literary prize includes a check for € 6,100 and a glass with the name of the winner engraved on it, which entitles them to drink Pouilly fumé at the Café de Flore in Paris for a year .

In 2017 her novel Summer was published, which was a finalist at the Prix ​​Goncourt des lycéens and the Prix du roman des étudiants France Culture - Télérama.
