Monica Stoian
Monica Stoian (born August 25, 1982 ) is a Romanian javelin thrower .
She finished seventh at the 1999 World Youth Championships and won the silver medal at the 2007 Universiade . She also participated in the 2007 World Championships and the 2008 Olympic Games . At the 2009 World Championships , she was fourth when she was able to achieve a personal best of 64.51 m in the first attempt. At the subsequent World Athletics Finals , she once again reached seventh place.
Plagued by injuries, the 2010 season was very disappointing. Because of her poor performance, she was not considered by the Romanian Athletics Federation for the 2010 European Athletics Championships .
