Monika Hofmann

Monika Hofmann (* 1967 in Dinkelsbühl ) is a German trombonist and university teacher. She has been teaching at the University of Church Music of the Evangelical Church of Westphalia since 2001 .

Life

Hofmann began playing the trombone at the age of twelve and was closely associated with trombone choir work in her youth. Later she also learned the piano and organ. From 1986 to 1991 she studied church music at the Academy for Church Music in Bayreuth and passed the B-exam, as well as the state music teacher examination for organ and piano and (after a supplementary study at the Meistersinger Conservatory in Nuremberg 1992-93) for trombone. She then worked as a music teacher and part-time church musician.

In 1994 she went to the Evangelical Church of Kurhessen-Waldeck as a trombonist , where she devoted herself to training young players. In the summer of 2000 she was appointed department head and clerk for church music, wind instruments and singing services for the German Evangelical Church Congress in Frankfurt am Main . Her position was limited to one year and comprised various organizational tasks. In September 2001 she was appointed full-time professor for church wind work and trombone at the University of Church Music of the Evangelical Church of Westphalia in Herford.
