Monika Hohmann (born November 12, 1959 in Gatersleben ) is a German politician ( PDS , Die Linke ). She has been a member of the Saxony-Anhalt state parliament since 2011 .

Education and life

Monika Hohmann attended the POS "Erich Weinert" in Gatersleben until 1976 and the Institute for Teacher Education in Quedlinburg until 1980 , where she was trained as a "teacher for the lower classes" in the subjects of German, mathematics and sport. From 1980 to 1982 she worked as a teacher for the lower classes in Wittenberg and from 1982 to 2003 at the school for the learning disabled in Wedderstedt . From 2002 to 2003, she acquired the physics teaching permit at special schools at the Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg and the chemistry teaching license at special schools at the Merseburg University of Applied Sciences . From 2003 to April 7, 2011, she worked as a teacher at the special needs school for people with learning disabilities in Wienrode .

Monika Hohmann is married and has three children.

Monika Hohmann has been a member of the PDS since 2003 and, after the merger, of the Left. She has been a member of the Harz district committee since 2007 and of the state committee of her party since 2009. She has been a local councilor in Hedersleben since 2004, where she chairs the “Social, Sport and Culture” committee. In 2007 she was elected to the Harz district council, where she became deputy parliamentary group leader.

In the state elections in Saxony-Anhalt in 2011 , she was elected to the state parliament via the state list.
