Monika Nöhre

Monika Nöhre (born August 25, 1950 in Hamburg ) is a German lawyer . From 2002 to 2015 she was the President of the Supreme Court in Berlin .

Life

After studying law at the University of Hamburg and graduating with distinction from both state exams , Nöhre initially practiced as a lawyer for five years . In 1982 she joined the justice service of the State of Hamburg and in 1992 was appointed judge at the Hanseatic Higher Regional Court. In 1994 she became head of the General Administration Office of the Judicial Authority. In addition, she was a consultant for the joint examination office and from 1992 to 1994 head of the joint examination office for Hamburg, Schleswig-Holstein and Bremen. In March 2000 she returned to the Higher Regional Court as Vice-President and also took over the management of the Hamburg State Judicial Examination Office.

On June 27, 2002, the members of the Berlin House of Representatives elected Nöhre as President of the Chamber Court . Her term ended on August 31, 2015.

In March 2007 Nöhre co-founded the Forum Law and Culture Association in the Court of Appeal , of which she is the chairman of the board.

Nöhre is married and has one son.
