Monika Rosca

Monika Rosca (born May 4, 1961 in Łódź ) is a Polish pianist and former actress .

life and career

Rosca, the daughter of a Romanian and a Polish woman, was cast at the age of nine for the lead role in the two-part adventure film Through Desert and Jungle . She prevailed against 4,000 female competitors. Shooting began in 1971, the film was released in 1973 and is one of the most successful Polish films in Poland. In 1978 she still had a speaking role in the Polish-language version of the British-Polish co-production The Water Babies , then she ended her film career.

After graduating from school, she studied at the Łódź Music Academy and at the Fryderyk Chopin Music Academy (today Fryderyk Chopin University for Music ) in Warsaw , where she graduated with honors in 1985 as a member of the piano class of Tadeusz Chmielewski . After completing her studies, she worked as a lecturer, but then concentrated on her career as a pianist. As such, she performs worldwide and has published several records on which she played classical compositions.

Rosca is fluent in Polish, Romanian, Russian and English.
