The Mont du Sphinx is a 40 m high mountain on the coast of the East Antarctic Adélieland . It rises on the peninsula, the northern end of which is Cape Margerie .
Participants in a French Antarctic expedition carried out from 1949 to 1952 named him descriptively. When viewed from the southwest, its shape is reminiscent of a sphinx .
