The Montafon Mining Museum in the village of Silbertal is housed in the municipal office in the center of the scattered settlement opposite the Silbertal parish church.

The municipal office was built in mixed construction, bricked and as a timber structure. It includes the Montafon Mining Museum, which traces the former mining of silver, copper and iron in the Montafon with around 500 objects. The Montafon Heritage Protection Association is the sponsor of the museum and the owner of the collection. The office also houses the Silbertal post office of the Schruns post office .
