Monte Davidoff
Monte Davidoff (* 1956 ) is an American computer programmer. He graduated from Nicolet High School in Glendale , Wisconsin in 1974 . He was also studying applied mathematics at Harvard University - it was the department that also included computer science at the time . He worked on the college radio station "WHRB". In 1978 he graduated from Harvard.
Davidoff is best known for his work on the floating point arithmetic routines in the Altair 8800 BASIC that he programmed while at Harvard. The routines were later reused for Microsoft BASIC .
At Honeywell Information Systems , he worked on Multics . Further stations were Tandem Computers , Ready Systems and Stratus Computer.
Since 2000 he has been working as an IT consultant for his own company, Alluvial Software.
