Monte Grande is a formerly independent town in Uruguay that has belonged to the newly created city of Ciudad del Plata since October 25, 2006 , of which it is now the Barrio .

geography

Monte Grande is located in the San José Department in Sector 6 . The place is to the north bordering Safici (Parque Postel) in the hinterland of the upstream Río-de-la-Plata coast town Delta del Tigre y Villas . West is Santa Mónica located in the north distance flows a few kilometers of the Santa Lucía River .

The population of Monte Grande is 1,287 (as of 2011), of which 628 are male and 659 are female.
