St. Joseph in Monteplair

Dörfl (Italian: Monteplair ) is a clustered village that belongs to the St. Valentin auf der Haide fraction in the municipality of Graun in Vinschgau in South Tyrol . The small village is located in the Vinschger Oberland , the highest section of the Adige Valley , at the foot of the Großhorn , which is St. Valentin's local mountain.

According to tradition, a horse station of the Romans is said to have been at this place on the Via Claudia Augusta . Dörfl still has the flair of a Vinschger farming village. By Tolomei , the original place names Muntaplayr was converted into the Italian Monteplair. The Flurname Muntaplayr comes from the Romansh as numerous other place names from the Obervinschgau.
