The Montevizija 2018 took place on February 17, 2018 and was the Montenegrin preliminary decision for the Eurovision Song Contest 2018 in Lisbon ( Portugal ). The preliminary decision was won by the singer Vanja Radovanović with the song Inje .

format

concept

On October 18, 2017, RTCG announced that for the first time since 2009 a national preliminary decision will be held. A total of five participants will compete against each other on February 17, 2018. The winner should be determined by 100% televoting and may present Montenegro at the ESC 2018.

Choice of contribution

From November 1, 2017 to mid-December 2017, contributions could be submitted to RTCG . Performers and composers from all over the world were allowed to apply, but the text of the song had to be sung in the official language of Montenegro, i.e. in Montenegrin . Composers were allowed to submit up to two contributions. On January 3, 2018, RTCG announced that it had received 31 entries. A jury selected the five participants for the preliminary decision.

poll

The broadcast included two voting rounds. After all five performers presented their songs, the first round of voting began. Three candidates qualified for the superfinal. After the three qualifying songs appeared again, the vote was taken again and the winner was finally announced.

Attendees

On January 16, 2018, RTCG presented the five participants in the preliminary round.
