Vanja Radovanović (born October 28, 1982 in Belgrade , Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia ) is a Montenegrin singer and composer .

Life

Vanja Radovanović was born in Belgrade and studied economics. In 2004 he took part in the Budna Music Festival in Montenegro and won the award for the best newcomer with the song Dripac . He was nominated for another prize there, but only came in second, behind the later ESC winner Marija Šerifović .

In 2006 he took part in the Serbian-Montenegrin preliminary decision for the Eurovision Song Contest 2006 , which he was unable to win. In 2008 he released the album Pričaj Dodirom , which later became one of the best-selling in Montenegro. In 2018 he won the Festival Montevizija with the title Inje and was allowed to represent his home country at the Eurovision Song Contest in Lisbon in May 2018 , where he was eliminated in the second semi-final. Although Radovanović sings more pop music, for example as a member of band VIII2, Inje is a traditional Montenegrin Balkan balade in order to be able to reflect Montenegro's traditions.

Vanja Radovanović is married and lives with his two children in Belgrade.
