Rambo Amadeus ( Serbian - Cyrillic Рамбо Амадеус , aka Antonije Pušić , born June 14, 1963 in Kotor ) is a singer and composer from Montenegro . He describes himself as a musician, poet & media manipulator .

His first solo album was released in 1988, on which he mixed different styles of music such as jazz , rap , rock and funk with mostly satirical political texts, where he already coined the term turbo-folk . His crude improvised live performances were a media phenomenon in what was then Yugoslavia and were particularly popular during the Balkan conflicts . His performances have been compared more frequently with those of Frank Zappa .

Eurovision Song Contest

Rambo Amadeus was appointed to represent Montenegro at the Eurovision Song Contest 2012 in Baku through an internal selection by the broadcaster RTCG . With the satirical funk rap Euro Neuro he started in the first semifinals, but could not qualify for the final of the competition. Rambo Amadeus made his first “appearance” at the Eurovision Song Contest in Rome in 1991 , when it was mentioned in the text of the Yugoslav contribution Brazil by the singer Bebi Dol . There it says: "Za Ramba, Dina, šta, šta, šta / da sam novu igru ​​smislila" ("For Rambo and Dino [ie Dino Dvornik ] I invented a new dance").
