Montserrat Cervera i Millet (* 1927 in Santiago de Cuba ) is a Catalan violinist and music teacher .
life and work
Montserrat Cervera was born in Santiago de Cuba in 1927 into a family of Catalan actors who were on tour. Her family returned to Catalonia at the age of four. Montserrat Cervera studied violin with Joan Massià and George Enescu . In 1951 she was co-founder of the string ensemble I Musici . With this ensemble she recorded recordings. She went on tour with this ensemble. In 1963 she founded the Brahms de Roma Quartet with her brother Marçal Cervera in Rome . Montserrat Cervera combined her concert activities with a teaching position at the Conservatorio di Musica Santa Cecilia in Rome.
