Türkmenkarahöyük is a former village in the Çumra district of the Turkish province of Konya . Since a territorial reform Türkmenkarahöyük is a Mahalle the district center Çumra. The place is in the Konya Plain ( Turkish Konya ovası ) about 20 kilometers east of Çumra and 50 kilometers southeast of the provincial capital Konya . It is connected to Çumra in the west and Karapınar in the east by country roads.

To the north of the village there is a rocky hill on which and in the vicinity of which numerous ancient evidence, mainly ceramic shards, were found, dating back to the late Copper Age, around 4500 BC. BC, can be dated. In the Hittite and Late Hittite times, the site, which is known in research as Turkmen-Karahöyük , was probably of greater importance. This is also evidenced by an inscription by the ruler Hartapu , which came to light east of the hill in an irrigation canal.
