Moon Kyungwon & Jeon Joonho is a South Korean artist duo, consisting of Moon Kyungwon (* 1969 Seoul ) and Jeon Joonho (* 1969 Busan ).

life and work

Moon Kyungwon graduated from the California Institute of the Arts and received a Ph.D. at Yonsei University in South Korea. Jeon Joonho studied up to a bachelor's degree at Dong-eui University in Busan and completed his master's degree at the Chelsea College of Art and Design in London.

The project News from Nowhere (2012), inspired by the eponymous utopia News from Nowhere by William Morris , was exhibited at dOCUMENTA (13) . Moon & Jeon envision a post-apocalyptic world in which humanity has been almost completely wiped out. As a film El fin del Mundo (2012), installation Voice of Metanoia (2011–2012) and book publication News from Nowhere , they show a retrospective from the future that deals with the function of art in today's society.

In 2012 Moon Kyungwon & Jeon Joonho were awarded the Korea Artist Prize.
