Moonchild is a German - Italian band that was founded in 1987 in Donzdorf under the name Wages of Sin .
history
Moonchild was able to make a name for himself in the Gothic scene with his first album Shed No Tear . The title track and the song Faces were released on compilations of this genre.
In 1997, after the release of the third album, Third , Moonchild appeared at the Wave-Gotik-Treffen , one of the biggest events of the black scene , in Leipzig.
The first three albums were still in the tradition of classic Gothic Rock , as played by Siouxsie and the Banshees , Fields of the Nephilim or Garden of Delight , but much more melodic and pop-oriented.
The style of the band finally went increasingly towards metal from 1998 . For the album Melomania , the drummer Alex Sauer from the band Love Like Blood could be won over instead of the drum computer previously used .
With the album Somewhere Someplace Somehow Moonchild consistently developed her new, harder style. The album was recorded in the Bi-Acoustics-Studio in Ostfildern-Ruit.
In July 2007 the band performed at the Norwegian "Kvinesdal Rock Festival". A new album was released in 2008 under the name Nothing is Forever . This shows a clear departure from the earlier style towards pop-rock. At the same time, Moonchild said goodbye to the record industry, as the CD is only available as a download from the band's website.
