As a settlement, Moordorf is part of the village of Poggenhagen in the town of Neustadt am Rübenberge in Lower Saxony .
geography
The village is on the B 442 , on the eastern edge of the Dead Moor and west of the Wunstorf – Bremen railway line .
history
The place was first mentioned in 1252 under the name mortorpe . In the feudal register of Duke Wilhelm von Braunschweig-Lüneburg around 1360/1370, Moordorf is given as a fief to Mr. Ludolf Campen under the name Morhof in front of Nyenstad with the field belonging to it. For the year 1848 it is stated that Moordorf formed a community association with the Moorkrug and had eleven residential buildings in which 57 residents lived. At that time Moordorf had a school and was parish in Neustadt. On December 1, 1910, Moordorf in the Neustadt am Rübenberge district had 148 inhabitants. In 1928, Moordorf was dissolved as an independent municipality and incorporated into Poggenhagen.
