The Moss Islands are a group of small islands and cliffs off the Danco coast of Graham Land on the Antarctic Peninsula . In Hughes Bay they are east of Midas Island and north of Apéndice Island .
Participants of the Swedish Antarctic Expedition (1901–1903) under the direction of Otto Nordenskjöld mapped them and gave them their descriptive German-language name after the predominant vegetation of moss and lichen .
