Dei's disease is a thriller book series with mystery elements set in the early 18th century. The authors are Bastian Zach and Matthias Bauer . The books are published as paperback premieres by Haymon Verlag .

history

After several short films and the independent film 3 Zimmer. Kitchen. Death. was Crohn Dei planned as the first commercial feature film by Bastian Zach and Matthias Bauer. After they wrote the script , the project fell apart despite the approval of a renowned production company. Zach / Bauer wrote the novel Morbus Dei: The Arrival , published by Haymon Verlag in 2010, from the script . The response from readers and critics was positive, the second volume Morbus Dei: Inferno was published in 2012 and was even better received. The third volume, Imzeichen des Aries , was published in autumn 2013. In addition to their novels, Bastian Zach and Matthias Bauer also write screenplays for movies, including a. on the horror film One Way Trip 3D (CH / AT 2011) and the international Viking film Northmen - A Viking Saga (CH / GER 2014).

Dei's disease: the arrival

The story takes place in the late 17th and early 18th centuries. The deserter Johann List ends up in a lonely mountain village. It quickly becomes clear to him that something is wrong with the village, animals are being killed, people are disappearing, hooded figures lurk in the woods. Johann falls in love with Elisabeth, the daughter of a farmer, and decides to leave the village with her. But when a group of soldiers marched into the village, the situation escalated and a life and death struggle began. Johann and Elisabeth uncover a dark secret from the village's past. In the end, they have to flee to save their lives.

Dei's disease: inferno

Tyrol, 1704 AD. After Johann and Elisabeth managed to escape from the village, they want to leave the country and start a new life. With the help of the Jesuit Konstantin von Freising, they fight their way east on the Way of St. James , always on the lookout for army thugs and highwaymen. When Johann and Elisabeth reach Vienna and the safe Danube port, enemies from Johann's past appear who want to bring them both under their control. While the ring around Johann and Elisabeth closes ever closer, suddenly a puzzling disease breaks out, which spreads rapidly. Johann and Elisabeth realize that it is the disease that has left the mountains and the remote village and is now spreading across Vienna. With difficulty they escape the old imperial city, which for many has become a death trap.
