Morennaya Hill ( Russian Зопка Моренная Sopka Morennaja , German ' Moränenhügel ' ) is a 40 m high hill on the coast of the East Antarctic Queen Marie Land . It rises 1.5 km south of Mabus Point .
Participants of the Australasian Antarctic Expedition (1911-1914) under the direction of the Australian polar explorer Douglas Mawson discovered and mapped it. Scientists on a Soviet expedition re-mapped and named it in 1956. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names translated the Russian name into English in 1961.
