Moritz Christoph von Hessler

Moritz Christoph von Heßler (* December 25, 1643 , † January 24, 1702 in Rabis ) was the princely Saxon chief tax collector in Saxony-Altenburg and owner of the Rabis and Möckern manors .

Life

He came from the Thuringian noble family Heßler and was the son of Colonel Hans Friedrich von Heßler on Burgheßler and Balgstädt . After the death of his father, he and his brothers received the two manors Rabis and Möckern when they were granted on November 8, 1671. In addition, he also acquired the Lichtenhayn manor .

In contrast to his father, he did not pursue a military career, but went into administration. He became the chief tax collector of the dukes of Saxony-Altenburg and thus chief tax officer in this small state.

He left the following children:

  • Moritz Friedrich von Heßler (* December 21, 1684; † 1733), acquired the Burgheßler manor in 1716 .
  • Georg Rudolph von Heßler (born June 18, 1687)
  • Christoph Ludwig von Heßler (* December 21, 1689; † 1741), died unmarried
  • Maria Agnes. On June 24, 1699, she married Christian Gottlieb Reichbrod von Schrenkendorff on Klingenberg
  • Four more daughters.
