Moritz Diamant (born September 22, 1830 in Wottichen , † July 3, 1884 in Marienbad ) was a chemist and paper manufacturer.

Moritz Diamant was a son of Michael Diamant (1797–1882), a citizen and trader from Wottich. He completed a chemistry degree with Justus von Liebig in Munich and then worked in paper manufacture. He invented a process to produce pulp from the stems and leaves of the maize plant, which is often found in Hungary, which could be used in paper manufacture. With the help of the imperial and royal government and Alois Auer von Welsbach , he founded the first maize raw material factory in Roman-Szt in 1859. Mihaly . Diamant married Hedwig Eisig (1840–1882) came from Oestringen . There were five children from this marriage. The son Berthold (1866–1942) was director of the family's Bruck / Mur paper factory , while the son Max Karl (* 1869) became a commercial councilor and director of the Graeflich Henckel Donnersmarckschen paper factory in Frantschach in Carinthia.
