Moritz Viktor Oster

Moritz Viktor Oster (born June 9, 1881 in Alt-Thann ; † February 7, 1966 in Mittweida ) was a German lawyer . From 1925 to 1946 he was administrative director at the Technikum Mittweida . He was the older brother of Major General Hans Oster .

Moritz Viktor Oster was the son of a German Evangelical Reformed clergyman. He attended the Kreuz School in Dresden and graduated from high school in 1901. From 1901 to 1905 he studied law at various universities. Moritz Viktor Oster passed his first state examination in law on February 3, 1905. From October 2, 1905 to September 30, 1906, he completed his military service as a one-year volunteer. As a prospective lawyer in the higher administrative service, Moritz Viktor Oster completed the usual legal traineeship in the Dresden-Altstadt District Administration and received his doctorate on December 22, 1909. jur. at the University of Leipzig. He passed the examination for the higher administrative service on April 27, 1911 with distinction.

On June 26, 1911 Moritz Viktor Oster married one of Alfred Udo Holzt's daughters , Helene Anna Margarethe Holzt (* April 16, 1888; † November 12, 1948), with her he had five children. Until the outbreak of the First World War, he worked as an assessor, bailiff and councilor in the Löbau administration. From 1914 to 1918 he did his military service. After the war he worked in his old position until 1922. In 1922 he was transferred to the Dresden Police Headquarters in 1920. Moritz Viktor Oster retired on February 28, 1924.

After a brief consultancy at the Girozentrale Dresden, Moritz Viktor Oster took over the office of administrative director at the Technikum Mittweida on April 1, 1925 . In November 1932 he was appointed managing director of the "Precision workshops GmbH" associated with the Mittweida technical center. He joined the NSDAP in 1936 in order to be able to legally accompany the takeover of the educational institution into a foundation and thus to maintain its international reputation.

Moritz Viktor Oster did a great job in preparing the establishment of an international Mittweida engineering association on February 26, 1938 in Copenhagen. He said there: Nowadays, efforts are being made everywhere to bring the young people of the various countries together so that they can get to know and understand each other and thus ... the misunderstandings and prejudices that unfortunately still often exist between the individual nations are eliminated.

From October 1, 1938 to January 7, 1946, Moritz Viktor Oster was head of the administrative board. His discharge was intended in November 1945, but he continued to work as an experienced worker until April 30, 1947.
