Morten Ramsland
Morten Ramsland (* 1971 in Odense , Denmark ) is a Danish writer .
Life
Morten Ramsland comes from a Norwegian family who immigrated to Denmark. He himself was born in Denmark's third largest city, Odense, where he grew up and successfully attended Søndersø Gymnasium . Originally he wanted to study science. It was not until the age of 20 that he decided to study literature and began studying Danish and art history, which he successfully completed in 1999 at Aarhus University .
During his studies he made his debut as a writer in 1998 with the novel Akaciedrømme . The novel fell through with both critics and audiences. It was only with his novel Hundehoved , published in 2005 , which was published a year later under the German title Hundsköpfe by the Frankfurt publisher Schöffling & Co. , that Ramsland celebrated his breakthrough as a writer. It has been translated into 15 languages.
