The Mosque of Islamic Solidarity (English. Mosque of Islamic Solidarity; Somali: Masaajidka Isbaheysiga / Masjidka Isbaheysiga; Arabic جامع التضامن الإسلامي, DMG Ǧāmiʿ at-taḍāmun al-islāmī ) is a mosque in Mogadishu , the capital of Somalia . It is the main mosque in the city and is considered the most important mosque in the Horn of Africa . The mosque, financed by the Saudi government with money from the Fahd bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud Foundation , opened in 1976 (according to other sources in 1987), and Prince Saud ibn Faisal , the Saudi Foreign Minister, was present at its inauguration. After the outbreak of the Somali civil war it was closed in 2006, it was after the rise of the Islamic Courts Union (Islamic Courts Union) reopened.

It stands on a hill near the center of the city, only a few hundred meters from the Indian Ocean in the immediate vicinity of the Federal Parliament .
