Moses Harris

Moses Harris (* 1731 ; † 1785 ) was an English entomologist and engraver . In his work Natural System of Colors in 1766 he examined the works of Isaac Newton and tried to fathom the multitude of colors that can be mixed from the three basic colors . As a result, he found the subtractive color mixture that is still in use today .
