The Mossynoics ( Gr. Μοσ (σ) ύνοικοι Mos (s) ýnoikoi "wooden tower inhabitants ", Latin Mossyn (oec) i) were a tribe of Asia Minor on the south-eastern coast of the Black Sea . Their settlement area was west of Kerasus and was adjacent to the Chalybers and Tibarenes . Together with the Tiberians, Macroners , Moschers and Marians , they formed the 19th satrapy in the Persian Empire .

The Mossynoics were considered warlike and uncivilized by ancient authors. For example, Apollonios of Rhodes tells ( Argonautika 2,1019-1025) that they copulated in public .
