mot (magazine)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

mot was a German automobile magazine ( ISSN  1861-6143 ), which was produced from 1960 to 2006 by the Motor Presse Stuttgart publishing house in Stuttgart . It was initially published monthly and from 1963 onwards every 14 days (before being discontinued, it was published again monthly).

The origins of the magazine lie in the magazine Rollerei und Mobil: scooters, mobiles, small cars and mopeds . This was renamed in 1956 to Roller, Mobil, Kleinwagen , before the name was changed in 1960, first to mot Roller-Mobil Kleinwagen and then to mot . 1963 were renamed again - first in mot tests cars , then in mot tests cars . After the merger with Motor Rundschau (1970) the name was changed to mot auto-journal , later again to mot: the auto magazine . From 2005 until it was discontinued in 2006, the title was changed to Motors .

In 1999, KFZ was also included in this magazine.

In contrast to the magazine auto motor und sport , which appeared in the same company, the focus at mot should be on the economy of the vehicles, which should also have been on the market for a long time. In addition, motorsport only played a subordinate role.

The editors-in-chief included Paul Simsa (1960–1973), Jochen Kruse (1993–2000) and Hermann Reil (1999 to 2006).
