Motor is the only studio album by the German rock band Ostkreutz . It was released on September 1, 2006 on the major label Warner Music Group as a standard and premium edition, including DVD.

Music style and content

The lyrics of the songs consist only to a small extent of German words , but mostly of a fantasy language based on Slavic languages . Musically, the tracks can be assigned to Ska and Punkrock and are intended to express the attitude towards life in the Eastern European countries.

In addition to the CD, the Premium Edition also includes a DVD with so-called "visuals" for all the pieces that show German subtitles for the fantasy texts. The DVD also contains four music videos for the songs Motor , Rock , Gangbang as well as Dancing, Sausage and Beer .

Cover design

The album cover is in black and white. It shows a drawing of a woman who is clutching her left breast. Her lower abdomen is covered by a red star on which the words Ostkreutz and Motor are written in white.

The website laut.de rated Motor with three out of a possible five points and described the music as "walking between actually functioning nonsense and total insane trash":

This record is so bold it kind of works. The melodies are designed to take over the brain at some point. Then suddenly you find yourself singing along to the choruses. Quiet, of course, and just for yourself. The problem with "Motor", however, is that the record is only a little bit surprised at the beginning and makes the listener smile. But after a few runs, the fun principle wears off quickly. "
