Degree of motorization
The degree of motorization is the ratio between the number of vehicles and inhabitants in a certain, delimited area. Usually the number of vehicles per 1000 inhabitants is given. The reciprocal of the degree of motorization, i.e. inhabitants per motor vehicle, is called the motorization code. This degree is sometimes further differentiated in statistics according to age group and gender .
If the motorization level has reached 100 or 250, it is a mass motorization .
