Mounir Zitouni

Mounir Zitouni (born September 15, 1970 in Leipzig ) is a former German-Tunisian football player and worked for kicker as an editor between 2005 and 2018 . He has been working as an independent business coach in Frankfurt am Main since the beginning of 2019 .

Zitouni is the son of a German and a Tunisian. Born in Saxony, he began his career in the senior division at Esperance Tunis in Tunisia, having previously worked for the A-Juniors at Eintracht Frankfurt under Hubert Neu . In Tunisia he was champion and cup winner in 1991 and played there for the Tunisian U21 team, with which he won the silver medal at the African Games in Cairo in 1991. In 1992 he moved back to Eintracht Frankfurt and played for one season under coach Ramon Berndroth for the amateur team. In 1993 he moved to SV Wehen , for which he played until 1999. The 1.93 meter tall Zitouni experienced a career high point in the years 1999 to 2003, when he made 132 regional league games with VfR Mannheim and Kickers Offenbach and scored ten goals as a defender and midfielder. With 35 yellow cards and two expulsions, he was also considered a very tough player. He ended his career at FSV Frankfurt .

Zitouni, who completed a degree in German, gained his first experience in journalism during his football career and completed a traineeship at Frankfurter Rundschau between 2003 and 2005 . In 2005 he became editor at kicker sports magazine and reported u. a. via FC Bayern Munich and various European and world football championships.
