The Mount Ajax is a 3770 m high mountain , which is 1.5 km west-southwest of Mount Royalist in the Admiralty Mountains rises. It was named after the HMS Ajax by participants in a campaign carried out from 1958 to 1959 as part of the New Zealand Geological Survey Antarctic Expedition . Other mountains in the area were named after New Zealand ships such as the nearby Mount Achilles after HMNZS Achilles .
