At 6,867 ft (2,093 m), Mount Albert Edward is the sixth highest peak on Vancouver Island and one of the easiest mountains to access. It belongs to the Vancouver Island Ranges and is located in Strathcona Provincial Park . The mountain is a popular destination, both in summer for hiking and in winter for skiing and snowboarding. The easiest route for the hikers is via the northeast ridge, which can be reached via Paradise Meadows. The mountain was named after Albert Edward, the Prince of Wales , later Edward VII.
