The Mount Borland is a large and slightly dome-shaped mountain in the East Antarctic Mac Robertson Land . It rises 8 km south of Mount Twigg near the head of the Lambert Glacier .
John Michael Seaton, flight officer of the Royal Australian Air Force , discovered him in November 1956 on a reconnaissance flight as part of the Australian National Antarctic Research Expeditions . The Antarctic Names Committee of Australia (ANCA) named him after Raymond Alexander Borland (1925-2007), a meteorologist at Mawson Station in 1958.
