Mount Canopus is a striking, ice-free and 1710 m high mountain in the Antarctic Ross Dependency . In the Nash Range of the Transantarctic Mountains, it rises at a distance of 7 km east of Centaur Bluff .
Participants in the New Zealand Geological Survey Antarctic Expedition (1961–1962) named it after the star Canopus , which they used as a benchmark for surveying work.
