Mount Dergach ( Russian Гора Дергача Gora Dergatscha ) is an ice-covered mountain with a flattened summit on the Oates coast of the East Antarctic Victoria Land . It looms west of Ob 'Bay and south of Lunik Point in the Bowers Mountains .
The area was photographed as part of Operation Highjump (1946–1947). The geodetic survey was carried out in 1958 during the Second Soviet Antarctic Expedition (1956–1958). The mountain is named after the meteorologist Alexei Leontjewitsch Dergatsch, a member of the Fifth Soviet Antarctic Expedition (1959–1961), who was killed in the fire at Mirny Station on August 3, 1960. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names transferred the Russian name to English in 1970.
