The Lunik Point ( English ; Russian Мыс Лунник Mys Lunnik ) is an ice-covered headland on the Oates coast of the East Antarctic Victoria Land . It is located about 5 km northeast of Mount Dergach on the west bank of Ob 'Bay .
It was photographed and mapped by participants in the 2nd Soviet Antarctic Expedition (1956–1958) who photographed and mapped them. They named the headland after the first Soviet lunar probes (see Lunik mission ). The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names translated this designation into English in 1964.
