Mount Eos is a 2600 m high mountain with a non-iced summit in East Antarctic Victoria Land . In the Admiralty Mountains, it rises 7 km north of Mount Adam .
The geologist Bradley Field of the New Zealand Geological Survey , who explored it between 1981 and 1982, suggested it be named after Eos , the goddess of the dawn from Greek mythology. The background to this is that from the top of the mountain there is an impressive view of sunrises and sunsets.
