Mount Guyot is a 3749 m high mountain in the Sierra Nevada . It is a solitary mountain that is northeast of the junction of Kern Canyon and Rock Creek and about 10 km southwest of Mount Whitney in Sequoia National Park .
The mountain was named after the geologist and geographer Arnold Henri Guyot on September 3, 1881 at the suggestion of Captain JWA Wright . His first named climber was (in the same year 1881) William Wallace .
