Mount Hunt is a 520 m high and domed mountain in the East Antarctic George V country . It overlooks a headland that ends at Cape De la Motte .
The mountain was discovered during the Australasian Antarctic Expedition (1911-1914) under the direction of the Australian polar explorer Douglas Mawson . He named it after the British meteorologist Henry Ambrose Hunt (1866-1946), then director of the Australian Bureau of Meteorology .
