Mount Kologet is a 1963  m high mountain in the Canadian province of British Columbia . It lies north of the Kispiox River and belongs to the Skeena Mountains , part of the Interior Mountains . Mount Kologet was named after an Indian chief.

history

On February 13, 1950 collapsed strategic long-range bombers of the type Convair B-36B of the Seventh Bomb Wing of the US Air Force from during an exercise mission. The crew dropped the explosive device, which was not loaded with nuclear material, over the Pacific and blew it up in the air. Then they left the no longer airworthy aircraft and sent it on a course out to sea. In 1953, the wreckage of the bomber was accidentally spotted while searching for a missing millionaire's plane on Mount Kologet. In August 1954, a US Air Force squad reached the wreck in the Canadian wilderness, recovered important components and then blew up the aircraft.
