Mount Leat is a snow-covered and over 800 m high mountain peak on Bristol Island in the archipelago of the South Sandwich Islands in the South Atlantic . It rises between Mount Darnley and Mount Sourabaya .
The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it in 2013. It is named after the British geologist Philip Timothy Leat (* 1957) from the British Antarctic Survey , who carried out the second series of geological surveys on the South Sandwich Islands from January to February 1997 and then two research campaigns to explore the surrounding ocean floor .
