Mount Liard is a 1770 m high mountain in the Antarctic Ross Dependency . In the Churchill Mountains, it rises 10 km east of Mount Durnford on the north flank of the McLay Glacier .
The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named him in 2003 after the US geographer Theodore J. Liard Jr. (1918–2002), from 1949 to 1980 a member of the United States Board on Geographic Names .
