Mount Martyn is a collection of bare rocky outcrops with a defined peak on the Oates coast of the East Antarctic Victoria Land . In the Lasarev Mountains , the mountain rises 5 km south of Eld Peak . It is the most distinctive formation on the western flank of the Matusevich Glacier .

The first aerial photographs were taken during the US operation Highjump (1946–1947). Further recordings were made on February 20, 1959 by participants in a campaign led by the Australian polar researcher Phillip Law as part of the Australian National Antarctic Research Expeditions (ANARE). It is named after the Australian physicist David Forbes Martyn (1906–1970), a senior scientist in the ANARE planning committee.
