Mount Normann is a 1238 m high mountain in the southeast of South Georgia . It rises one mile north of Smaaland Cove .
The South Georgia Survey conducted surveys during its 1951–1957 campaign. The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named the mountain in 1958 after the German chemist Wilhelm Normann (1870-1939), whose fat hardening method, developed in 1901, was first used in 1907 to solidify whale oil .
