Mount Smethurst is a prominent mountain in the East Antarctic Enderbyland . It rises 5 km northwest of Mount Torckler and 47 km southwest of Stor Hånakken .
It was mapped using aerial photographs taken in 1956 as part of the Australian National Antarctic Research Expeditions . The Antarctic Names Committee of Australia (ANCA) named him after Neville Robert Smethurst (* 1935), head of the Wilkes station in 1961.
